The Port Melbourne Soccer Club is pleased to announce that Bill Romanovski will take on the position of club president for the 2021 season, effective immediately.
Having held a board position for the last three years and with longstanding ties to the club, Bill will be a familiar face to most within the Sharks community.
Bill will take on the vacated role of club president, following the decision of James Vakrinos to step down from the position following three years of service.
“I am very proud to take on the responsibility of club president, and I can’t wait for the 2021 season to officially begin. I would also like to thank James for his tireless efforts as president, and especially during the difficult year of 2020 which was a challenge unlike anything we have ever faced. He should be extremely proud of his contribution to the club,” said Bill.
James will remain on the board of the Port Melbourne Soccer Club, alongside existing board members Dario Serra, Darren Hose and Giulio Avian.
“This was not a decision that I took lightly, and I plan on remaining involved and supporting the operations of the club. I love the sport, I love the club and I love the opportunities it’s given young kids, including my own. I am also proud of what we have achieved over the last few years and I know that Bill’s passion for the club and business acumen will keep us on track to future success,” said James.
